""1984"" by George Orwell is a dystopian novel set in a totalitarian society ruled by Big Brother and the Party where surveillance propaganda and thought control dominate. The protagonist Winston Smith works at the Ministry of Truth rewriting history to fit the Party’s narrative. However they are eventually caught by the Thought Police tortured and brainwashed into absolute loyalty to Big Brother.
